Analyser - Model ESA 1000 Philosophy

In recent development in surface and mass spectrometry an analyzer is required, capable for collecting ESCA, AES, MXPS, ISS over the sample surface with optimum energy and imaging resolutions corresponding to a particular problem. Analyser - Model
ESA1000 is one of the most capable and flexible to meet these needs. It also responds to a growing number of recent developments in the field of imaging HWR and SWR and can accommodate almost any new swr and image intensifiers that appear in the field, and is capable with the combination ESCA and the time of flight sims(TOF). The resolution power of the energy analyzer - model ESA1000 can be continuously varied to give optimum collection efficiency and resolution for a specific application. For this purpose it is possible to vary both input slit-width and angular acceptance to the analyzer continuously to give maximum performance. The quality of the imaging by ESCA is determined by the imaging quality of the input lens combined with the analyzer focussing properties as these in turn influence the required ratio for the energy resolution. ESA1000 combines unique focussing properties of the analyzer with the imaging properties of the lens to give an unparalleled combined performance. The input lens is equipped with a quadruple lens to be able to sweep across the sample surface while collecting ESCA spectra at the optimum settings for the spectra acquisition. At the exit of the analyzer is a multi-channel detector with 128 channels. The exit area of the ESA1000 can accept detector geometry up to 50mm active area width and effectively up to 50mm active area width and effectively up to 1000 detector with 50 m pixel spatial resolution. With an output lens it can produce an energy spectrum with enhanced resolution or combine SIMS and ESCA in one instrument.
